DEMONSTARTION FOR SEX WORKERS RIGHTS
DECRIMINALISATION IMMEDIATE OF PUBLIC SOLICITING
NO TO THE PENALTY OF OUR CLIENTS

Because a year after the victory of the Socialist Party in the elections, it is clear that for Women sex workers, the change is not now.
Because the Government spokesman and Minister of Women’s Rights has attempted to condition the repeal of the offense of soliciting the criminalization of clients.
Because if the bill to repeal the offense of soliciting was adopted in first reading by the Senate, nothing is gained in this field, despite the promise of the candidate Holland.
Because the desire to penalize customers is far from being buried, despite the constant opposition of Women sex workers and the publication of more reports showing that the effect of penalizing customers will be the same as those generated by the criminalization of soliciting there are more than 10 years away from Women sex workers to remote areas, exposure to violence, lack of security, downward pressure on prices or the condom.

Because prohibitionist organizations speak for us, orchestrate our experiences and still claim to know better than us what is good for us.

On 2 June, the International Day of Women sex workers’ rights, and the anniversary of the occupation of the church of St. Nizier Lyon in 1975 which marks the beginning of our movement, we invite you to join us in our annual event to mean that:

We do not want their pity and their victim status that condemns us to remain without rights and be placed under guardianship.

We do not want their alleged rehabilitation, because we are already part of this company.
We do not want their charity, but of rights, because we are working people, citizens and equal citizens.
We are mobilized to show our opposition to any repressive towards sex work project.
